Student Growth Measures
Assessing Growth with Pre- and Post-Tests
When building a local designation system, districts may choose any assessment that meets the requirement of the Texas Admin Code § 150.1012 for their student growth measures. TEA formally connects to assessment vendors biannually to review whether they meet these requirements. If the vendor meets the requirements, they are placed on the third-party assessment options table for districts to consider integrating to the local designation system.
TIA Options for Pre-Test, Post-Test, and Expected Growth Targets
- Option 1: Third-party provides pre-test, post-test, and growth targets.
- Option 2: Third-party provides pre-test and post-test. District provides growth target.
- Option 3: District provides pre-test, post-test, and growth targets.
- Option 4: District provides pre-test and growth targets. Third-party provides post-test.
